Daniel 10: Highly Esteemed - Darren Rowse
from One Church, Blackburn Hosted by One Church
What name are you answering to? Not the one on your birth certificate, the other one. The name a teacher used once in front of the class, or a partner reached for in an argument, or a hard season quietly stamped on you. In Daniel 10, an exhausted old man lies face down by a river. He is seventy years into exile; he has been praying three times a day for something he now knows he will not live to see, and after three weeks of grief and fasting, heaven has said nothing. When the answer finally comes, it does not come as an explanation. It comes as a hand on his shoulder and a name. Darren Rowse preaches on grief, stalled prayer, a war going on somewhere we cannot see, and the God who names us before he explains anything.
