A death sentence hangs over Babylon’s wise men when King Nebuchadnezzar demands both his hidden dream and its meaning. Daniel asks God for mercy, receives the mystery, and gives God all the credit rather than using the moment to build his own name. The dream’s statue pictures human empires giving way to God’s kingdom, which Jesus establishes through His death and resurrection.
