Daniel 6
from Beyond the Message Hosted by Veritas Church
In this episode, Matthew and Jake discuss yesterday’s sermon from Daniel 6 — God is a God who saves, therefore we should form habits, take stands, and trust God! We unpack the main points from the sermon and go beyond yesterday with additional insight into the text. Daniel in the lions’ den isn’t just a children’s story—it’s a portrait of costly, consistent devotion. When prayer was outlawed, Daniel didn’t start something new; he simply kept doing what he’d always done. In this episode, we unpack why forming habits of faith now prepares us for trials later, and how devotion and courage grow best in the soil of trust, not outrage. Message Highlights: Main Point: God is a God who saves, therefore we should form habits, take stands, and trust God. Devotion is built before crisis; courage is revealed in crisis Prosperity can breed compromise - good times can tempt us to become soft and distracted. Daniel’s window: visible faith in a fearful culture (1 Kings 8:48, Jeremiah 29:12-13) God’s faithfulness to us fuels ours—God is the real hero of the whole Bible.
