Daniel Jackson: Rockies’ Power-Speed Catcher | Georgia Bulldogs Football News

Daniel Jackson, the Georgia phenom who just got drafted 37th overall by the Rockies, is a rising star with elite power-speed combo, hitting .379 with 32 homers and 26 steals last season — and he’s got the hardware to prove it. After transferring from Wofford, he exploded in his junior year, winning the Golden Spikes, Dick Howser, Buster Posey, and Bobby Bragan Awards, plus SEC Player of the Year and the Triple Crown. His Cape Cod League prep work and comfort in the Georgia system helped him mature at the plate, slashing strikeouts while dominating. As the first catcher in D-I history to hit 30 homers and steal 25 bases in a season, Jackson brings rare versatility and elite upside to the Rockies’ future.
