Daniel Smith - Veteran helping wounded veterans - Dream Catchers Tonight we are have a very special guest Daniel Smith a high level Brain Injury survivor who is a personal friend as well as an amazing hero to many military veterans and civilian survivors like myself. Daniel Smith is a US Army veteran who loves Helping Other Wounded Veterans Augusta, Georgia Area and across the Country. As he puts it “I Am a Wounded Veteran Who Helps Others To Find There New Way Of Life!” In his own words, After Being Injured in Combat from A IED (Roadside Bomb) in May Of 2006 , I really didn't know JUST HOW BAD I WAS HURT , But I was A SOLDIER , I Brushed the Dirt off Wiped the Blood Off from My Ear , And tried to TOUGH IT OUT !! , After about two months I starting Having Serious Back AND Neck Pain Headaches, Well YOU KNOW THE DRILL, MOTRIN AND DRINK MORE WATER!!! Chain Of Command Didn't Think Nothing Was Wrong With Me! Went to THE DOC. AND HAD BROKEN MY BACK IN TWO PLACES , HERNIATED A DISK IN MY NECK , AND HAD SERVERE NERVE DAMAGE TO MY LOWER BACK , I ALSO WAS DIAGNOSED WITH POST CONCUSION MIGRAIN HEADACHES !!! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS TBI TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY!!! BUT I STILL TRIED TO STAY , TO HELP WITH ANYTHING TO HELP OUT WITH THE MISSIONS , BUT I WAS MEDIVACED BACK TO THE STATES , AND ON PURPOSE MY CHAIN OF COMMAND SENT ME BACK TO FORT LEWIS ,WASHINGTON . WHEN THEY COULD HAVE SENT ME TO FORT GORDON GA!! I WASN'T THERE AT FT LEWIS LONG BECAUSE THE LORD WAS LOOKING AFTER ME!! Life Experience.
