Danny Ainge Finally Gets His Due | Big 12 Basketball News

Danny Ainge is finally getting his due, set to enter the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame this October — a long-overdue honor for a three-sport All-American who lit up BYU with legendary performances, including a 40-point game in ’78. More than just a scorer, Ainge possessed an electric competitive fire and clutch instincts that made him a game-changer. His former teammates rave about his inner belief, leadership, and ability to elevate everyone around him — traits that carried over to his NBA playing days and later, as a front office architect who rebuilt the Celtics into champions. This Hall of Fame induction isn’t just recognition for his stats — it’s a tribute to a winner’s mentality and a rare feel for the game that defined his legacy on and off the court.
