Danny Scudero, Nation’s Leading Receiver, Set to Revitalize Colorado’s Offense

After leading the nation in receiving yards at San Jose State, shifty wide receiver Danny Scudero is bringing his explosive skill set to Coach Prime and Colorado. As college football continues to evolve through the era of the transfer portal, few stories highlight rapid ascension quite like Japanese American wide receiver Danny Scudero.  Looking ahead to the upcoming season, the shifty playmaker is making his third stop in the past three seasons, taking his elite skill set to Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes. Scudero looks to pick up on a successful 2025 where he starred at San Jose State.  During that breakout campaign with the Spartans, he led the entire nation in receiving yards with 1,297 on 88 receptions, while hauling in 10 touchdowns.  His stellar play earned him 2025 first-team All-Mountain West honors, a Biletnikoff Award semifinalist nod, and a CBS Sports second-team All-American selection. His collegiate journey started at Sacramento State – at the time an FCS school.  As a redshirt freshman for the Hornets, he immediately made his presence felt by tallying 664 yards and five touchdowns. Standing 5-foot-9, the agile slot receiver is a San Jose native who was tagged a three-star recruit coming out of Archbishop Mitty High School. Now, for the first time in his career, Scudero will play in a Power Four conference.  He joins a Colorado program looking to turn things around after a disappointing 3-9 season that revolved around a carousel of quarterbacks.  With a new offensive coordinator calling the plays and redshirt freshman Julian Lewis stepping in to take the helm at quarterback, Scudero arrives in Boulder with high expectations to serve as the Buffs’ primary weapon.
