Evelio Chichilticoatl Flores, Jr., a Danzante Capitán of Coahuiltecan / Xicano descent.Since 1997, Evelio has been a tribal singer and dancer, currently leading the Aztec Dance group Mitotiliztli Yaoyollohtli (Heart of the Warrior). Mitotiliztli Yaoyollohtli has been part of the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs' Community Arts Program (CAP) since 2006.Additionally, Evelio co-founded Kalpulli Tonalpilli (Temple Children of the Sun) Native American Church in 2005 to practice and preserve the cultural traditions of Indigenous Ancestors. He is also a pipe carrier and Sundancer since 2000.Currently, Evelio works as a realtor after 20 years in school districts in D-FW as a social worker and substance abuse counselor.
