A graduate of Oberlin College, Daria has received grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Sundance Institute, and the New York State Council on the Arts, while also earning fellowships from the MacDowell and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. As Managing Editor of the Veterans Breakfast Club magazine and someone deeply connected to both the veteran community and international life experiences, Daria brings a rare and compelling voice to storytelling. We discuss her new book, Sawadika American Girl, along with her upbringing in Thailand and Vietnam, her work in filmmaking and publishing, cultural identity, family history, writing, and the art of telling stories that often go unheard.
