from Meeting Podcast Hosted by Parkinson's Body and Mind

LRRK2 Pathway and Parkinson’s Disease Motivated by the lack of a molecular understanding and a treatment that slows down the progression of Parkinson’s disease, our research focuses on the leucine-rich repeat kinase-2 (LRRK2) pathway, as mutations that increase the kinase activity of LRRK2, represent one of the most common inherited causes of Parkinson’s disease. The goal of our work is to undertake high quality rigorous research to develop a robust framework of knowledge of how the LRRK2 signaling pathways is regulated, to develop mproved methods to better diagnose and treat Parkinson’s disease.
