Return to the story about a world without power where a group of strong women have come together to not only survive the apocalypse but thrive in it. Still haunted by her time in the Middle East, Sergeant Geri Fischer is grateful to be stationed in the simple, almost boring town of Astoria. When First Sergeant Taylor Barnes asks her to escort a civilian on a mission, she accepts out of duty, or at least until she meets the woman she is assigned to protect. Julia Sharpe wants to restart a US postal route, beginning in Astoria and ending in San Francisco. The only practical means is to go by train, but parts of the journey travel through dangerous territory. For her protection, she is assigned a military escort, which she doesn’t want. The world Sam and Laura have built together with their children is nearly perfect. There is nothing Laura would change about it, but Sam can’t shake an idea, a dream that is close to her heart. #ad Disclosure: As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
