Der deutsche Computerwissenschaftler Sepp Hochreiter ist einer der Vordenker der Künstlichen Intelligenz. Schon Anfang der neunziger Jahre beschrieb er in seiner Diplomarbeit einen Lern-Algorithmus, der heute in jedem Smartphone steckt – und zum Beispiel ermöglicht, dass Computer gut von einer Sprache in eine andere übersetzen können. Er erklärt, was dahintersteckt, wieso Google und die anderen Tech-Konzerne so übermächtig sind – und warum er aber trotzdem weiter an seinem Institut in Linz bleiben möchte.
