About: Garth Paine (USA/AU) born 1962, is a composer, performer and scholar. He was awarded a Green Room Award for Outstanding Creativity, for Escape Velocity (Company in Space) and was a finalist for the Best new Musical Score for Dance in Australia, 2014. In 2018, Garth was researcher-artist in residence at IRCAM/ZKM, developing Future Perfect for spatial audio, cell phones and VR. He presented the Keynote at NIME2016 and a keynote at 2014 Ecomusicologies conference on listening to place. Dr. Paine is a Professor of Digital Sound and Interactive Media at Arizona State University and co-directs the Acoustic Ecology Lab. His music has been performed internationally. Links.
