Data Cult Audio 0265 - Ecotech

from Data Cult Audio · host DC Audio

Bio:  Ecotech is a solo electronic music project started by Zachary Sedefian in January 2021. Ecotech often releases dub techno or deep house tracks, but he also records a lot of other music. His submission to Data Cult Audio is an amalgamation of experiments he made in Upstate New York and Lima, Peru. The first half is an exploration of the MengQi Wing Pinger as an instrument, accompanied by a Ciat-Lonbarde Cocoquantus, Lorre-Mill DoubleKnot, and eurorack modular synthesizer. In the second half Ecotech used a Charango (traditional Andean instrument), iPhone, and Cocoquantus to make contemplative grainy soundscapes. This recording combines an interest in the limits of frequency modulation and ping with time-stretched garden sounds and false nostalgia.
