Episode 222: David and Kristie EvansDavid Evans, and his wife Kristie, were well known, upstanding members of their small town community in Ada, Oklahoma. David was the pastor at their local Baptist church, bringing a new-age, progressive approach, and his wife spent much of her time volunteering there as the beloved pastor’s wife. They were a seemingly perfect couple, but a peak behind the curtain would reveal something different. In March 2021, David was shot and killed as he slept beside Kristie. In the end, two people would be arrested in his murder. This case gained national attention for its scandalous nature that involved violence, abuse, coercion, jail house letters, an unconventional sexual relationship, and a love triangle.
