Today I had one of my old friends jump on a call with me. I rang him up out of the blue to get this recording done at the last minute. David shared with me a story from his childhood where he had to jump out a window from his house that burnt to the ground. He also spoke about how important it is to find a therapist and have someone that you can talk with. In some ways his story about jumping out of his burning home has echos of symbolism in what he is now doing as an adult and seeing a therapist… he is lighting his own life on fire and burning down the walls that we construct to protect us. In order to grow, heal and become stronger, sometimes we need to be willing to burn.
