David Jou: Mindset of Physical Therapy, Learning from Athletes & MOTIVNY

from MEP Podcast · host Ryan Willms

On the latest episode I speak to David Jou, New York-based athlete, physical therapist and co-founder of MOTIVNY. We dive into his journey of growing up in New Jersey, what inspired him to get into PT and the early days and evolution of MOTIVNY and how he and his team traversed the last year together. We talk about the evolving mindset around being an athlete today but also how he is trying to educate people on PT and how it can be more useful as a preventative practice than purely for rehabilitation. David also shares his perspective on the recent Asian-American hate-crimes, how it's made him think about his own experience and how he and MOTIVNY can be proactive in supporting his community.
