from DEADLY TRUTHS · host SS Podcast

On a sunny Saturday morning in November 1988, nine-year-old 'miracle baby' Michaela Garecht and her best friend rode their scooters just four blocks to a Hayward, California market to buy candy. Minutes later, Michaela fell victim to a cold, calculated trap when a predator deliberately moved her scooter beside his car, snatching her in broad daylight before speeding away. For 32 years, her grieving mother fought relentlessly through dead-end leads, false confessions, and tragic police blunders that wasted the crucial first 48 hours—unaware that a damaged 10% partial fingerprint left on the scooter held the key. Step inside this harrowing true crime investigation to discover how modern digital imaging finally unmasked incarcerated serial predator David Emery Misch, bringing a bittersweet measure of justice to one of California's most haunting missing child casesBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/deadly-truths--6551875/support.
