David Shire es el compositor americano al que dedicamos el anterior programa hablando de sus  composiciones para el cine y en este nos centraremos en su carrera como compositor de musicales con Richard Maltby como letrista. Richard Maltby también hizo las adaptaciones al inglés de “Miss Saigon” y “The Pirate Queen” los musicales de Schönberg y Boublil. Ha ganado el Tony como director de “Ain’t misbehavin” y el Olivier por su dirección del musical “Fosse” que homenajeaba la figura del director y coreógrafo Bob Fosse.
