DawgmanRadio: Huskies come up short in Corvallis

The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - gave their thoughts on Washington's 27-24 loss to Oregon State Saturday night in Corvallis, a game that the Huskies had turned around in a big way, only to give up 10-unanswered fourth-quarter points, including a 24-yard field goal on the last play of the game.They focused first on the play of the game - the fourth and one that Oregon State was able to stuff with 3:18 to play in the game, allowing the Beavers to salt away the game in Washington territory. The Huskies even looked to allow OSU to score as a means of getting the ball back, but the Beavers figured it out in time to maintain possession and make the game-winning kick with no time left.They also talked about Dylan Morris's night and how the Washington quarterback had his definite ups and downs. He started out strong, throwing a 44-yard touchdown strike to Terrell Bynum to get the Huskies off on the right foot, but then really struggled from that point onward.Washington's offensive line went through some in-game changes, including MJ Ale taking over for Julius Buelow at left guard. Will that end up being a permanent change, especially given the fact that Ale was the starting left guard for all of the 2020 season?And what to make of the Wildcat, and the ability of Sean McGrew and Kamari Pleasant to utilize it so effectively? It definitely makes you wonder what the senior running backs weren't doing early in the season to not get any carries against Montana and Michigan.The Dawgman guys also heaped praise on Washington's defensive line, who really battled inside against an Oregon State offensive line leading the Pac-12 in rushing. And Edefuan Ulofoshio had a whale of a night inside, racking up 16 tackles, followed by Sam Taimani's 9 tackles and two tackles for loss.But what to make of the coaches, and especially John Donovan? What happens next? Is the bye week the time the Huskies make a change or do they try to figure something out schematically that can work for more than one or two drives?
