DawgmanRadio: Lots of scrimmaging on Day 4 of fall camp

from Dawgman Radio: A Washington Huskies athletics podcast · host 247Sports, Washington Huskies, Washington football, Washington Huskies athletics, Football, Baseball

The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - were on hand on Montlake Sunday morning to see what the Washington Huskies were up to on Day 4 of fall camp. The competition definitely heated up Friday and that trend continued Sunday in front of a lot of friends and family members. In fact, while most of the practice happened on the east field, the last third took place inside Husky Stadium and was almost all scrimmaging except for one special teams period. The team was in shells and shorts today, so no one was getting tackled and they were doing their best to keep teammates off the ground, but that didn't stop head coach Jedd Fisch from getting after his guys a couple times about knocking players to the ground. The player that seemed to stand out above all others was quarterback Demond Williams. With so many 11-on-11 plays to be had, the sophomore signal caller got a lot of chances to show off his arm and legs, both to a rousing success. There were also some other outstanding performances on offense, including true freshman Raiden Vines-Bright, who continues to impress. We were also able to see the frosh and some other younger players that have been mostly doing scout duty to line up against each other at the very end of practice. After a quick break the talk naturally turns to the other side of the ball, where players like Elinneus Davis and Zach Durfee are letting their presence be known, as well as Arizona transfer Tacario Davis, who came back to make a great diving tip against receiver Rashid Williams right after Williams had connected with Demond Williams for a touchdown.
