DawgmanRadio: Previewing the last big recruiting weekend in June

from Dawgman Radio: A Washington Huskies athletics podcast · host 247Sports, Washington Huskies, Washington football, Washington Huskies athletics, Football, Baseball

The guys from Dawgman.com - Chris Fetters and Scott Eklund - were back on the mic this morning to preview this weekend's last big set of official visits for June, as well as talk about Washington's newest commitment - cornerback Jeron Jones - and also talk a little bit about a couple of top UW recruiting targets that are expected to make their college decisions very soon - O'Dea DL David Schwerzel and EDGE Tristian Givens. To start, the guys talk about the commitment of Jones, a four-star corner from Mission Viejo, Calif. and what his commitment means for the defensive back room, as well as how his pledge might impact others - namely Davon Benjamin from Oaks Christian, who is officially visiting Montlake this weekend. That segues perfectly into talking about the players that are expected to officially visit UW starting Friday. The full list can be found HERE. There's already been one name taken off and one added, so could there be more changes before Friday? After a quick break, Scott talks about the 7-on and 5-on camps he attended Wednesday at Husky Stadium, tournaments that allowed him to see a couple of 2026 UW commits up close and personal; Puyallup OL Ah Deong Yang and Kennedy Catholic DL Derek Colman-Brusa. He also talked about a number of the 2027, 2028, and 2029 players that were also participating, including some that already have offers from the Huskies. Chris and Scott then talk about the early standout performance of 2026 QB commit Derek Zammit at the prestigious Elite 11 competition in Los Angeles, one that saw Zammit fifth overall after day one. And don't forget, we are currently running a deal where you can get 50 percent off a yearly subscription, so if you want to get set up ahead of what should be a very entertaining 2025 football season, click HERE to check out the promotion. And it's upgradeable for monthly members too!
