DawgmanRadio: The interns preview the Oregon State game

from Dawgman Radio: A Washington Huskies athletics podcast · host 247Sports, Washington Huskies, Washington football, Washington Huskies athletics, Football, Baseball

The Dawgman.com interns - Jack McCauley and Intern Emeritus Luke Mounger - break down what they've seen from the Oregon State Beavers so far this season and how they match up against the Washington Huskies going into Saturday night's game at Reser Stadium in Corvallis. What to make of Oregon State? They just came off one of the biggest wins in recent program history, beating USC in Los Angeles for the first time in over 60 years. That's huge, and the Beavers are obviously riding a huge wave of momentum.Starting with the offense, they talk about BJ Baylor picking up the Oregon State run game where Jermar Jefferson left off. And quarterback Chance Nolan took advantage of Sam Noyer faltering against Purdue and is now firmly ensconced as OSU's first-choice signal-caller. Is he similar to Cal's Chase Garbers? And they have a number of smaller, shiftier receivers that could cause problems for a Washington defense that has been solid, but not spectacular so far this season.Moving to the defensive side, the interns talk about some of Oregon State's key players from front to back, like LBs Avery Roberts, Omar Speights, former Federal Way star Andrzej Hughes-Murray, Jaydon Grant, and Rejzohn Wright. They've given up yards in the passing game, but they've also created a lot of turnovers too.To finish up, Jack and Luke give their keys to the game for Washington and what they need to do to find a win on the road. They also give their confidence levels of a Washington victory. Are they feeling good about UW's chances, or do they have some reservations?
