DawgmanRadio: Transfers, Recruiting, Coaches Salaries and Basketball Updates
from Dawgman Radio: A Washington Huskies athletics podcast · host 247Sports, Washington Huskies, Washington football, Washington Huskies athletics, Football, Baseball
While it hasn't been super busy, there has been some buzz over the past couple of weeks with Washington head coach Jimmy Lake filling out his staff, two football transfers that will come in this spring, basketball and recruiting all taking center stage during that time. With all that in mind, the guys from Dawgman thought it was a good chance to catch people up on things and explain why some things have been happening.First off was the recent announcement that former Texas A&M defensive end/outside linebacker Jeremiah Martin has made the decision to transfer to Washington. The Huskies were in the mix for the 6'5", 262-pounder when he was a four-star prospect coming out of Cajon High School in San Bernardino, California. However, he made the decision to sign with the Aggies and after three non-descript seasons in College Station, he decided a change of scenery was in order to get his football career back on track. One of the things that Kim Grinolds and Scott Eklund delve into during the podcast is why some kids aren't successful at one schools, but can blow up at another. A lot of it is fit and comfort-level and they go into why that may be the case with Martin. Also on tap was the recent release of the football coaching staff's salaries and then they got into some talk about the 2022 and 2023 recruiting classes. How big will they be and what position groups are ones to watch over the next 18 to 24 months.Lastly, Eklund makes a fool of himself trying to name the starting five for the Husky basketball team and discussing some upcoming changes that could be on the way.
