Dawn Z. Moore is the creator of LIBAVÉ Beauty, a luxury scalp skincare brand designed to be melanin-conscious, sensitive skin-conscious, and inclusive for bare scalps. Dawn lives with alopecia and wanted to create a luxury scalp care brand that is melanin-conscious, sensitive skin-conscious, and inclusive of all women who are bald by journey or bald by choice. In 2023, Dawn was diagnosed with alopecia. What began as a medical journey, steroid injections and prescribed topical treatments, slowly became something more visible, more emotional, and harder to ignore. Over time, the hair loss progressed, making it increasingly difficult to hide and impossible to dismiss. LIBAVÉ is a new company, and Dawn recently raised over $15k to start her business on a platform called “Kickstarter”: Dawn joined the show to further talk about LIBAVÉ, and to talk about her journey with alopecia.
