DaWon B. Baker - Associate AD for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion - S3:E46 (Final Episode of Season 3)

from The Sports Deli · host Hoot

DaWon B. Baker joined Hoot for this final episode of Season 3. It was an honor and a privilege. DaWon is the Associate Athletic Director (one of the youngest in the country) for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) at the University of Colorado. Baker came to the University of Colorado from the University of Nebraska, where he has served in a similar role as the Huskers' Diversity & Inclusion Director in Life Skills and Enrichment since September 2018.   We discussed his upbringing in St. Louis, (and no, Albert Pujols is not his favorite Cardinal of all time), his time at the University of Missouri, his experiences and what he learned most by working with Dr. Richard Lapchick, who was also on our show, and what it has been like since Deion Sanders was hired as the football coach.  You don't want to miss who DaWon would like to have at his dinner table if he could choose any 5 people and who is favorite basketball player is of all time. #DEI #StLouis #MentalHealth #TrackandField #Football #SportsPodcast #Pac12 #BLM
