Day 12: Courage To Obey

A lot of us want to obey God, but we also want to feel safe first. That tension shows up as delay, overthinking, and quiet bargaining with the very thing God already made clear. Day 12 of 31 Days of Obedience is a short devotional with a big question behind it: do we treat God’s commands like suggestions when they stretch our comfort?We sit with Joshua 1:9 in the New Living Translation and slow down long enough to hear the weight of God’s words: “This is my command, be strong and courageous… For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Then we make courage practical by naming its different forms: physical courage, moral courage, emotional courage, and intellectual courage.
