Day 13 - Light to my Path

from 60 Second Prayers for Muslims during Ramadan · host 60 Second Prayers

On Day 13 we ask that Jesus light the way for Muslims to find him.Transcript:Day 13, A beautiful tradition that has arisen from the celebration of Ramadan is the unique Fatimid (fat-uh-mid) styled lantern, known as a fanous (Faa Noos). The tradition of hanging colorful lamps on streets and in houses originated in Egypt when the Caliph ordered that lights be hung to help worshipers safely make their way to Mosque in the dark. The fanous has since been incorporated around the Muslim world as a sign of hope and a light in darkness. Today let’s pray that the true light of the world shines in the hearts of Muslims. Father, you sent your son, Jesus as the light of the World and declared through Him that whoever follows him will not walk in darkness but have the light of life. So we pray now that you would make the light of Christ shine brightly in the Muslim world that those who are seeking the truth would find themselves on the path of Jesus. And Lord, bless those Muslim background believers who do follow you that their lives and their testimony would shine brightly, like a city on a hill and use them to bring their families and friends to the knowledge of you. In Jesus’ name - Amen.Consider Meditating on: John 8:12-30. If you know a Muslim ask them and then: What do you think of when you see a fanous?
