DAY 142: Psalms 95, 97–99
from Five Minute Bible Hosted by Kendall Lankford
DAY 142: Psalms 95, 97–99 Psalms 95 and 97–99 thunder with the present reality of God’s universal reign, proclaiming that the Lord already rules over all nations, all creation, and all history as the holy King enthroned above the earth. These enthronement psalms hold together joyful worship and trembling reverence, revealing that God’s reign brings salvation, justice, mercy, judgment, and holy fear as the nations are summoned to bow before Him and idols collapse beneath His authority. They ultimately point to Christ, the risen and ascended King who now reigns at the Father’s right hand, gathers the nations through the Gospel, and steadily brings the entire world beneath His righteous and everlasting kingdom.
