DAY 151: 1 Kings 3–4 1 Kings 3–4 begins the golden age of Solomon’s reign as wisdom, peace, order, and flourishing spread throughout Israel under the blessing of God. Instead of pursuing raw power, military dominance, or personal glory, Solomon asks for wisdom to govern God’s people faithfully, and through that wisdom the kingdom begins to resemble a partial restoration of Edenic peace, where justice, abundance, stability, and prosperity flow outward even to the surrounding nations. These chapters ultimately point to Jesus Christ, the greater Solomon and the true Wisdom of God, whose perfect reign brings everlasting righteousness, peace, and flourishing to the world, and through whom the knowledge of the Lord will one day cover the earth as the waters cover the sea.
