Day 16: The Cost Of Obedience

Fear is loud, persistent, and weirdly convincing, and it often charges us a higher price than we realize. Today we’re back with Day 16 of 31 Days of Obedience, sitting in Luke 9:23–25 where Jesus calls us to deny ourselves, take up our cross daily, and follow Him. We talk honestly about how obedience can feel like loss, especially when we’re trying to protect our plans, our comfort, or our reputation. But we also name the promise on the other side: obedience may require sacrifice, and it leads to eternal reward.As we slow down with the Word, we zoom in on what we believe is the greatest cost we pay to follow Jesus: fear. Fear of failure. Fear of not being enough. Fear that God will not show up. Fear of people and their opinions. We connect 1 John 4:18 to real life, perfect love casts out fear, because fear keeps us bracing for punishment instead of resting in God’s character.
