Powerlessness and silence go together.The Gift Of VoiceGod has blessed humankind with a full range of communication, which the crowning jewel is our voice. We can encourage and build up others or destroy others with our voice. We can spread kindness, or spew hate. We can tell others of the Good News found in His Word with our voice. I will never understand those who use their voice for cursing when language is so full and rich with excellent and wholesome words. The Bible is packed with warnings of speaking too much. Most of those references are about communicating with no purpose or meaning and babbling on without really saying anything helpful.The opposite is also crucial. If we fail to speak up when we should, we become powerless. So instead, speak up for those who are suffering. Speak up when you see injustices. Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.Speaking when you should be silent is foolishness. Remaining silent when you should speak up is cowardness.
