To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.Recitation of Ayah 20أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيمأَمَّنْ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى هُوَ جُندٌۭ لَّكُمْ يَنصُرُكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ۚ إِنِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ إِلَّا فِى غُرُورٍMeaning of Ayah 20Translation:“Who is it that can be an army for you to help you besides Ar-Rahman (the Most Merciful)? Indeed, the disbelievers are only in delusion.”Reflections and Lessons1. A Reminder of Our PowerlessnessThis ayah poses a rhetorical question: If you stand against Allah, who can possibly help you?Think about it—Allah has already described some of His forces:• The earth, which He tamed for us but can shake violently.• The wind, which carries blessings or destruction.• The stars, part of His armies, used as missiles against devils (as mentioned earlier in the surah).So who can possibly defend us if we choose to rebel against the Creator?2. The Illusion of StrengthAllah points out that disbelievers live in delusion. They think their power, wealth, or status can shield them from divine consequences.But look at history:• The mighty Firaun drowned in a body of water.• The advanced civilization of Thamud, with their homes carved into mountains, was destroyed in moments.• Even today, natural disasters remind us how powerless humanity truly is.Our perceived strength is fragile. Real strength lies in submission to Allah.
