Drawing from Luke 5:16 and Galatians 1:15–16, we see that both Jesus and Paul withdrew from the noise of people to draw near to the Father. Solitude is not loneliness but communion, not emptiness but fulfillment. Richard Foster reminds us, “Loneliness is inner emptiness.
