from Wisdom for the Day - Standing Strong · host Rick Yuhas

Send us Fan MailRich and Poor1Choose a good reputation over great riches;     being held in high esteem is better than silver or gold.2 The rich and poor have this in common:     The Lord made them both.3 A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions.     The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.Verse 1Wisdom is more valuable than wealth (Proverbs 8:10). Other people should be able to trust us. Christians should be responsible people, who are always careful and sensible and having integrity and a good reputation is more valuable than wealth, especially after we die.Verse 2God made everybody. So we are all responsible to him.God made rich people. He gave wealth to them, so that they could help poor people (Proverbs 14:31).God also made poor people. He cares about them (Isaiah 61:1). He will punish rich people who refuse to help poor people (Proverbs 17:5). Everyone is created in God's image, so we shouldn’t look down on people who are poor or powerless.Verse 3A simple person has not learned to be wise. He does not watch for dangers. He does not go to a safe place. (See Psalm 46:1-2.) He suffers, because he is not wise. It might seem obvious, but this verse reminds us that even after we come to faith in God, we should still use wisdom and understanding in our daily livesLet me ask you: What is your integrity worth? Would you trade your good name to get a good grade without studying? To get a promotion when someone else is more qualified? To avoid paying taxes? It doesn’t take much to lose your integrity, and once it’s gone, it’s very hard to get it back.If you want daily truth in a raw, simple format… come follow us on TikTok at Wisdom for the Day — RAW.Real truth.
