Day 286 | Jeremiah wears a yoke. Jerusalem is captured by Babylon. 2 Thessalonians: Intro

Day 286 of the Holy Bible One Year CHALLENGE. Jeremiah tells the people that they're going to be under Babylon's rule for a while and should just accept it. He even wears a yoke to make his point. False prophets say the opposite, but Jeremiah warns not to listen to them. He writes a letter to the exiles in Babylon, saying they'll return home after 70 years, so in the meantime, they should settle in and pray for the city they're in. In short, Jeremiah's telling them, "This is your life for now, so make the best of it and don't believe the hype." Paul, along with Silas and Timothy, greets the church in Thessalonica and praises them for growing in faith and love despite persecution. Paul assures them that God will bring justice and they should remain steadfast.
