Only the Lord can.Deuteronomy 6 centers everything on love and loyalty to God. “Hear, O Israel” is not a slogan, it’s a summons to whole-life worship. The Word is to be taught at home, carried through the day, and remembered when life gets comfortable. Then Moses warns them about the danger of blessing: full stomachs and settled lives can make people forget the God who saved them.And in chapters 8–10, Moses retells Israel’s stubbornness, especially the golden calf, to make the point unmistakable: they are not chosen because they are righteous, but because God is faithful. Grace is the foundation. Humility is the posture. And the call is clear: fear the Lord, walk in His ways, love Him, and cling to Him.These chapters teach us that real faith is not just starting well. It’s remembering well.
