Day 32: Deuteronomy 11-20

Remember what you’ve seen. Remember God’s discipline, His power, His faithfulness. The land ahead is not like Egypt. It depends on rain from heaven, which means it depends on the Lord. Then comes the public choice: Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal, blessing and curse. Covenant life is never neutral.From there, Moses lays out what covenant faithfulness looks like in everyday life: true worship without compromise, justice in leadership, protection for the vulnerable, integrity in courts, and compassion woven into community rhythms. Kings are warned not to trust horses or wealth. Prophets are tested by fidelity to God’s Word. Even warfare is regulated, showing that the Lord, not military strength, secures victory.These chapters show that loving God is not vague sentiment. It reshapes worship, politics, economics, and even the battlefield. The call is simple but weighty: trust the Lord fully, obey Him completely, and do not mix His name with the idols of the nations.And as we read, we feel the tension. Who can keep this perfectly?
