Day 4: Singing vowels

from The Daily Vocalist Hosted by Eden School Of Sounds

Singing vowels are the sounds that you make when you sing words that contain one or more of the letters A, E, I, O, or U. Singing vowels are different from speaking vowels because they require a specific mouth shape, tongue position, and jaw relaxation to produce a clear and beautiful tone. Singing vowels also help you to sing in tune, project your voice, and avoid vocal strain. There are five basic singing vowels that you need to master: Ee, Eh, Ah, Oh, and Oo. These are pronounced as in the words meet, met, father, home, and blue. Each of these vowels has a different mouth shape and tongue position that you need to practice and memorize
