He hides among enemies, gathers followers who are distressed and in debt, and begins forming the unlikely community that will surround the future king.Twice David has opportunities to act out of anger or desperation. In the story of Nabal, David nearly takes revenge, but Abigail steps in with wisdom and humility, preventing bloodshed. Her courage reminds David to trust God’s justice instead of taking matters into his own hands.These chapters show David being shaped in the wilderness.
