Day 48 - Embracing the Cross

So much of our pain flows from self-effort—trying to meet our own needs apart from Him. But the cross puts an end to the striving self. When we allow Holy Spirit to hold self in death, peace begins to reign. This is not the absence of pain, but the presence of His life in the middle of it.
