Day 56: 1 Kings 11-15

The king who was known for wisdom fails in the most important place: his devotion to God. As a result, the kingdom begins to fracture. God raises up adversaries, and after Solomon’s death, the nation splits into two kingdoms, Israel in the north and Judah in the south.Jeroboam leads the northern kingdom but immediately establishes false worship to secure his power. Golden calves are set up, and a pattern of idolatry takes root. Meanwhile, in Judah, some kings follow the Lord while others drift, creating a mixed legacy.These chapters show how quickly things unravel when leaders turn from God. Wisdom, success, and blessing cannot replace obedience.
