Today we commemorate the Holy Innocents, the children of Bethlehem who were killed by King Herod in his attempt to destroy the newborn King. Honored by the Church as the first martyrs of the New Covenant, the Holy Innocents remind us that Christ’s coming into the world immediately confronted darkness and revealed the priceless dignity of every human life.Content Note:This episode reflects on themes of persecution and the loss of innocent life.
