Day 82 | 1 Samuel 14 — Many or a Few — Jonathan’s Raid and Saul’s Reckless Vow | Bible in a Year

“Nothing can hinder the LORD from saving by many or a few.” Jonathan believes it enough to attack a garrison with nobody but his armor-bearer at his side, and God sends the enemy into a panic before Israel's main army even arrives. Meanwhile his father makes a rash vow that nearly starves an army and nearly kills his own son over a spoonful of honey. One leader eats last. The other almost costs everyone their supper.Here we consider sacrifice, leadership, rash vows, loyalty, and a King who never asks His people to starve for His glory.
