Why the word breakfast is the first meal of the day?

“Fast” could not be only meant quick, but it also means a period during which you do not eat anything. “Fast”不仅仅表示“快”， 它还可以表示“禁食”

Break the fast 打破不吃饭这样的状态

You are supposed to eat breakfast like a King, lunch like a queen, dinner like a pauper.

French toast 法式土司

French toast is a much thicker bread, you add eggs over it, fry it on both sides, then add butter and some fruit syrups. 法式土司的面包更厚，有可以在上边加鸡蛋，然后把两面都煎一下，最后再加些黄油，果酱。

It is just one side frying. The yellow yolk is running and the white part is a little running. 只煎一面，蛋黄完全是流状的，蛋清也没有完全变硬
