The couple is already preparing for a high-risk pregnancy when Chanel's breast lump reveals she has cancer, adding another layer of complexity to their lives. Johnny, a cancer survivor himself, is determined to do anything to save Chanel and their unborn baby, even if it means potentially crossing lines.  The DOOL storyline draws parallels between Johnny and his grandfather, John Black (Drake Hogestyn), a figure known for his heroic deeds and clever business acumen. Just as John was a devoted family man who even risked his life to save Bo Brady (Peter Reckell), Johnny might possibly follow in his footsteps to save Chanel.  Spoilers for Days of our Lives suggest that despite holding the CEO position at DiMera Enterprises, Johnny, like his cousin Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews), wants to steer the company away from its shady past. His determination to save Chanel could lead him to ask EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) or Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (now played by Richard Wharton) for a miracle treatment, which could potentially cost him his position at the company or even land him in legal trouble.
