DayTrippers (Season 2 Episode 11-1) A Fistful of Orchids Part 2

Jack Nash – John (Prime) Reggie Carlisle – John (Beta) GM- Tod Foley Tom, bewitched by the Hoom, begins to wander away from camp. Reggie quickly wakes Nash and Duke and heads after Tom. As the team begins to engage Duke gets knocked out by the Hoom while Nash and Reggie empty their magazines into it. Duke returns to the fight just as the beast goes down and jut then Winfred and Anell, the kids who threatened the group earlier, show up. It turns out she’s an explorer in training and Winfred is her first customer. They all rest for a bit and field dress the Hoom and then Nash and the crew take off in search of orchids. Later in the day as they are looking for a place to set up camp for the night Nash and Reggie spy what appears to be some sort of den that looks like it was constructed by something intelligent. Moving a little further away they set up camp and post a watch. During his watch, Nash hears something approach and begin speaking. He wakes Reggie and they discover the native sentient species on the planet. It holds out an orchid and says the word “Aoof,” Nash mimics the gesture but it doesn’t like when he holds out an orchid. When Reggie holds out some Hoom meat they’ve made a new friend.
