DDR 006 - Emily Hawgood Professional Ultra Runner

In this week's episode Rick and Ricky have a conversation with Emily Hawgood, a world class ultra runner, adventurer, and all around great person with a wonderful smile. Emily grew up in Zimbabwe where she began her running lifestyle. Emily then went to the College of Idaho where she ran for the cross country and track teams. She is a professional ultra runner for @adidasterrex and since this episode has been recorded she won the Chianti Ultra Trail by UTMB in Italy. Besides being a world class ultra runner Emily is a world class person that exemplifies the Don't Die Rusty spirit.  The conversation begins about growing up in Zimbabwe and running barefoot. Their chat then turns to how Emily made her way to America, running for The College of Idaho. Emily tells the Ricks what she does while she is not training. This is an interesting conversation going in a few different directions from being in the mountains and finding peace.  Concluding, Emily tells us how going through the grind of a race and the tough times make a race and an adventure more fulfilling.
