DE ANALYSE: Ouders in België benaderd door hackers en datalek bij scholingsfonds in Den Haag

De recente golf van cyberincidenten raakt zowel de publieke sector als individuele burgers. In Den Haag is een beveiligingsincident gemeld rond een scholingsfonds, waarbij gevoelige persoonsgegevens mogelijk toegankelijk zijn geweest na een hack bij een leverancier. In België werden ouders van schoolkinderen geconfronteerd met directe afpersingspogingen na een cyberaanval op een school. Wereldwijd blijven softwareontwikkelaars en vitale industriële systemen doelwit door besmette softwarecomponenten en kwetsbaarheden in besturingssystemen. Criminelen maken daarbij gebruik van geavanceerde social engineering en phishing om toegang te krijgen tot cloudomgevingen. Ook statelijke actoren worden in analyses genoemd als actieve spelers in cyberspionage, onder meer gericht op defensiebedrijven en grote internationale evenementen. Tegelijkertijd boeken opsporingsdiensten resultaten met arrestaties en vervolgingen in fraude en spionagezaken.
