Tegenover deze digitale dreigingen staan successen van opsporingsdiensten, waaronder arrestaties en strafeisen in zaken rondom helpdeskfraude, ddos aanvallen op alarmnummers en de diefstal van persoonsgegevens. Op internationaal niveau blijven statelijke actoren zich roeren met digitale spionage gericht op de persvrijheid en pogingen om westerse sancties te ontduiken ten behoeve van militaire productie.
